Sorry for the NOT-SO-AMAZING pictures I took with my iPhone. I thought about documenting the process after the process had begun so my hands were sticky, I was surrounded by craft ribbon and flowers, and there was glitter everywhere! You know what I mean? However, I think the photos will give you at least a semi-idea of what you are going to need to make these cute vases that I am using for my friend Giulliana’s baby shower for her precious baby girl who is due to arrive any day now!! I am so excited for her and her husband.
What you will need:
1. Glass containers of your choice – I got these from Crafts 2000 for $1 a piece.
2. Glitter – I used WOW super fine glitter and it worked great.
3. Modge Podge
4. Sponge Applicator
5. Ribbon
6. Pretty flowers of your choice
7. Hot Glue & Gun
Apply Modge Podge with the Sponge Applicator to one side of your vase/container/etc at a time.
I did two sides, let those dry, then did the other two sides. It seemed to work pretty well.
Apply a thin layer of modge podge to the outside of the glitter once it has completely dried to seal in the glitter so it doesn’t “shed” everywhere. It will look dull and icky for awhile but it eventually dries nice and clear and you are left with a pretty sparkly vase.
I then hot glued on a ribbon and a matching ribbon rose that I made, added the long stemmed flower and viola! It is done.

And here are some pictures of the vases in action AND all the other DIY decorations and decor:
The mexican Restaurant allowed us to use their margarita glasses which we filled with pink lemonade and rimmed the glasses with pink sugar.
Her cake was ginormous and very pretty. We also had a onsie which we decorated with a gold crown and wrote “Sophie” on for all the guests to sign.
Everyone had a blast anticipating the arrival of baby Sophie!
