This year my husband and I had our annual “Morgan Murder Mystery” Party. The theme was The Great Gatsby and my character was a flapper. Yay! So I did a little research and found out some cool stuff about makeup in the roaring twenties.

The times were beginning to change and things were becoming a little more modern. Woman were beginning to express their individuality with makeup! Bold eyes with dark black kohl eyeliner, bright lips in reds and plums that accentuated a woman’s “cupid’s bow”, and peach or pink blush on porcelain skin was the makeup of choice. Flappers kept their eyebrows plucked ultra-thin. Many plucked the entire eyebrow and would then pencil in a new “eyebrow” even higher than the original.(Please do not do this though! Fake it by filling in your eyebrows, creating a higher arch and extending it past where your normal brow would stop.)
Check out my video to see just how I created my flapper look!
